Why Diuretics should not be used

Posted on October 19, 2018 at 9:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Please note: This article of mine concerning medical diuretics is important. Even if you are not taking a diuretic, I still think you should read it because it is an example of a very common medical practice that is misguided and harmful. And, what I say here about diuretics applies to many other medical drugs. And, it’s very likely that you know someone who is taking a diuretic. So, do pass it on if you think it can help someone, and I thank you for reading it.

by Dr. Ralph Cinque

The greatest thing about the Internet is that it allows public debate of issues that would not otherwise be publically debated. For instance, although almost 10 years have passed since 9/11, the 9/11 truth movement is alive and well and growing strong, and it's all because of the Internet. The JFK truth movement too has benefited greatly from the Internet.

Likewise, the Internet has become a bastion for medical skepticism. Look what happened in 2009 with the alleged swine flu pandemic. Tens of millions of Americans refused to get the swine flu shot. The majority of Americans didn't get it. Where did such skepticism come from? It came from the Internet. And it's not just the swine flu shot. The Internet has put all medical drugs on trial like never before. Do an online search, and you can find a torrent of information about the harms from statin drugs, NSAIDs, acid blockers, arthritis medicines, horse estrogen (i.e. Premarin), and more. I dare say: if you are prescribed a drug, and you don't do an online search about it before taking it, something is wrong with you.

However, there is one class of prescription drugs that has largely escaped critical analysis on the Internet: diuretics. That is about to change. This article makes the case against diuretics and why you should think twice about taking them. And, they are a very widely prescribed class of drugs. Diuretics are considered first-line treatment for high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, kidney failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and edema from just about any cause. You don't like the puffiness around your eyes in the morning? A doctor will give you a diuretic for that too.

We all know what diuretics do- increase the urinary output- but how do they do it? To grasp that, you have to understand how the kidneys work.

Kidney filtration starts with blood passing through a specialized cluster of high-pressure capillaries called a glomerulus. Because of the high pressure, water and dissolved substances are forced out of the capillaries into the capsule that surrounds the glomerulus, called Bowman's capsule. Then comes a long tubular system known as the renal tubule. There, the body reclaims some of the initial filtrate, including about two-thirds of the salt and water, and virtually all of the organic compounds, such as glucose and amino acids. The whole idea is to reclaim the good and leave behind the bad and to get the balance of everything just right. The whole filtering unit is called a nephron, and there are about a million nephrons in each kidney.

Diuretics work by sabotaging the reclamation process so that more of the initial glomerular filtrate reaches the bladder. So, more water comes out, and also more minerals, including sodium, potassium, and magnesium. There are different kinds of diuretics. For instance, loop diuretics interfere with reabsorption at the ascending loop, whereas thiazide diuretics interfere at the distal convoluted tubule. There are other kinds of diuretics, but those two seem to be the most widely prescribed. Keep in mind that the function of the kidneys is a very delicate and intricate process. It's influenced by multiple hormones, some of which are produced by the kidneys, and some of which are produced by other glands, such as the pituitary and the adrenals. It's influenced by the body's pH, because, among other things, your kidneys work to maintain the proper acid/base balance. It's a vast, complicated, finely-tuned, precision process, and again: it's very delicate. To go in there, as with a sledgehammer, and pharmacologically force changes on this delicate process is certain to cause havoc. You wouldn't try to adjust a wrist watch with a sledgehammer, but they might as well be doing that when they give people diuretics.

So, do diuretics make your kidneys work better? No, they make them work worse. The fluid output goes up but only because the whole discriminatory process has been seriously corrupted. The result is pharmacological dehydration. That's what you get when you take a diuretic. A diuretic adds a layer of pharmacological dehydration to whatever condition you started with. It doesn't address the causes of the original condition. It doesn't normalize anything. On the contrary, it adds another abnormality to the one that already exists. It certainly does not cure, fix, or correct anything. What it does do is camouflage the original condition. So, no matter what disease you started with, you now have two diseases, one naturally occurring, and the other drug-induced. The result of that morbid combination may kind-of, sort-of, look like normal. But, the devil is in the details.

Hey, don't be fooled by appearances! Any improvement that seems to come from taking a diuretic is false. It isn’t real. Just because your swelling goes down a little in response to the diuretic does not mean you are getting better. You are being deceived, and so is your doctor. The "improvement" is just a trick, a charade, a medical shenanigan. Nothing gets resolved by taking a diuretic. All it does is mask symptoms while putting an additional strain on the body. I suppose it wouldn't matter if it were harmless. But, it is not harmless. It starts a train of evils that reaches far and wide. For example, JAMA reported in 2002 that patients in kidney failure who were given diuretics to "help" their kidneys had a 68% higher death rate!

Being a bicyclist, I like to make an analogy to a bicycle wheel being "out of true." To get that perfect rotation back, a wobbly wheel is placed in a device, and then the spokes are adjusted- some tightened and some loosened until the wheel rotates evenly again. But, you can't go about it willy-nilly. If you don't know what you're doing, and you start cavalierly tightening and loosening spokes to correct a wobble, you can easily create a worse wobble elsewhere. You'd be surprised how easy it is to make a bad wheel worse when trying to fix it- if you don't know what you're doing. You can easily dig yourself in deeper. And that's exactly what happens when you take a diuretic; you're just digging yourself in deeper, making a bad situation worse. You're just complicating your condition and taking your whole biological system further "out of true." And you are setting yourself up for unending medical dependency. So, don't be lured by the prospect of a symptomatic improvement from taking a diuretic. It's not worth it. It will always prove to be meager and temporary. No real good comes from it. I assure you that diuretics never restored anyone to health. It's really just a trap- a deceptive medical trap. The list of potential side effects from diuretics is long: headaches, weakness, faintness, nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, muscle cramps, etc. etc., but, what concerns me most is the damage to the kidneys (which is irreversible) and the cardiac arrhythmias (which can cause sudden death).

So, what should you do instead of taking a diuretic? We’ll take it one condition at a time, but I first, let me say that nothing resolves edema as well or as quickly as fasting. I am referring to a complete, water-only fast. And in cases of severe edema, I might even restrict water consumption to some extent. I don’t mean to an uncomfortable degree, but I might advise the faster to, temporarily, limit water intake in order to encourage reabsorption. But now, let’s review the conditions:

Heart Failure: If your heart is failing, taking diuretics is not going to make it stronger. Fluid pools in the legs with right-sided heart failure. I say just live with it. Don't cover it up with diuretics. What you need is a total health program to rehabilitate your heart. That means getting the right food (ie, whole natural foods, with plenty of fruits and vegetables, while avoiding junk carbs and junk fats) the right exercise (being careful and diligent about it, respecting your limitations) shedding excess weight, tightly controlling sodium (ie, the amount you put in your mouth, not what your kidneys do with it), etc. It is also useful to consider fasting. Heart-supporting supplements such as Coenzyme Q10, Taurine , Acetyl-l-carnitine, high-dose Vitamin D3, and others should be considered. And of course, you should work with a doctor, but not one who is going to lace you with diuretics. Look, the fluid in your legs is there; you can live with it for a while. Just accept it. Use it as a way to monitor your progress. If you do many things right, the fluid buildup will slowly dissipate- without forcing measures. The quickest way to make it go away is to fast. And as it starts going down- on its own accord- you'll know you are on the right track. What you want is a real recovery- not some medical fabrication.

Note that with left-side heart failure, fluid accumulates in the lungs (pulmonary edema), which makes it hard to breathe, and it can advance to an emergency situation where suffocation becomes possible. Obviously, that is a medical emergency calling for emergency treatment. I don't dispute the possible use of diuretics in that case. But, the protocols of an emergency do not carry over to the usual chronic situations. Outside of emergencies, say no to diuretics.

High Blood Pressure: You could say that most people with high blood pressure have walking high blood pressure, meaning that there is no emergency, and they don't feel sick. It means they have time to apply natural methods and avoid the pharmaceutical route. Again, it starts with natural diet, exercise, weight control, habit control, de-stressing, de-caffeinating, etc. etc. And again, fasting is very valuable and effective for high blood pressure. Also, there are natural supplements worth considering, such as fish oil (or better yet, one of the new vegan DHA/EPA supplements derived from algae, such as Ovega-3), resveratrol, CoQ10, policosonal, magnesium, and more. It's all very safe. But, why take a diuretic? Your kidneys are not something to trifle with. And as I explained, you can't normalize your kidneys by taking diuretics. Even the seeming good that comes from taking a diuretic for high blood pressure isn't all that much. Why do you think they often combine diuretics with other anti-hypertensive drugs? It's because the results from taking a diuretic alone is often and usually unsatisfactory and inadequate. So I say: forget about it. Adding a layer of pharmacological dehydration to your condition is not going to help you. And don't let them use fear to control you. OH, you're going to have a heart attack or a stroke if you don't start taking the drugs right away! You may have had high blood pressure for years without knowing it. Millions of Americans have it right now and don't know it. And yes, some of them will go on to have heart attacks and strokes, but don't assume for a second that those who take diuretics and other drugs for hypertension become immune to heart attacks and strokes. That's part of the big lie. They're selling this stuff- just like flu vaccine.

There is one caveat regarding high blood pressure, and that concerns malignant hypertension. Malignant hypertension is a condition in which the blood pressure spikes so high and so fast, that it is truly a medical emergency. Symptoms are acute: extreme headache, visual disturbances, gait disturbances, cognitive disturbances- even speech impediments. I am not challenging emergency medical treatment of malignant hypertension. However, keep in mind that it comprises a very tiny percentage of cases of hypertension. The vast majority of patients fall into the walking hypertension category, for which natural alternative methods are far superior.

Venous insufficiency: This is where the venous valves which prevent backflow are defective causing the ankles and legs to swell, and there is also an unsightly appearance of the broken, damaged veins. If it were me, I would walk as much as possible, use the slant board every day, wear supportive legwear, raise the foot of my bed slightly, eat well (again, lots of fruits and vegetables), and I would take natural botannicals that have been shown to support vascular health, such as horse chestnut, butchers broom, and grape seed extract. But, I would not take diuretics, which can only mask the condition.

Ascites: This is where the abdomen swells because of liver disease. There are a lot of things you can do to aid an ailing liver, but taking diuretics is not one of them. On the contrary, diuretics strain the liver. Obviously, the lifestyle issues must be addressed, including eating habits, drinking habits, drugs habits, etc. And, I have seen fasting work wonders in cases of ascites. Also, there are supplements that can aid an ailing liver, including Silymarin from milk thistle, NAC, SAM-e, TMG, lipoic acid, and more. Obviously, a bloated abdomen can look alarming, but it's not usually painful. Just let it subside by itself (which it will) when you do everything else right. And again, as the swelling slowly subsides, you will know that you are on the right course. So, you can use it as a barometer of your progress. There is no good reason to mask it with diuretics.

This doesn't begin to cover all the conditions for which diuretics are used, but hopefully, you are getting the idea. Am I saying that there is no legitimate, beneficial use of diuretics? Let me put it this way: Outside of an emergency situation, where it's imminent life or death, I can't think of a single condition for which I, Ralph Cinque, would be willing to take a diuretic. Not one. Whatever the problem might be, I would deal with it in other, more constructive ways. I would not manage an ongoing chronic condition by incorporating a diuretic into my daily life.

In case I haven't made myself clear, I DON'T LIKE DIURETICS. They don't do any good. They just create the illusion of improvement. You can't force your kidneys to work better. It just isn't possible. It only invites trouble. Serious, major trouble.

Reversing diabetes: 5 Important Steps

Posted on June 18, 2013 at 2:15 PM Comments comments (3)

When I was first diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes I felt like I was looking at a huge mountain to climb. Now that I have reached the top of that mountain, I look back and realize that the climb would have been a hell of a lot easier if I would have been sent down the right path and given the correct information from the beginning.

Back in 2010 I walked to a hospital with a blood glucose reading of 724. After being released, I had no more knowledge of how to take care of my blood sugar issues than when I had been admitted. The only thing that was continuously pushed in my face was medication, which I absolutely refused right from the start. A few years earlier I had witnessed a friend become seriously ill and die from taking a drug called Avandia. I didn't know much at that state of the game, but I knew that synthetic drugs were not the answer to getting healthy and reversing diabetes.

Most people believe that once they are on insulin their diabetic issues have been taken care of. What many don't seem to understand is that insulin is just a band-aid, the disease is still continuing to progress and do it's damage to the body, even when insulin is being taken. So please allow me to share with you my personal experience in reversing diabetes and the knowledge that I acquired in the past three years from countless hours of classes, research, presentations and self testing in order to make your journey a bit smoother and quicker than mine. Reversing diabetes does not have to be rocket science and can be done by keeping in mind the 5 following steps.

You will be repeatedly told that diabetes is an insulin problem not a food problem. This is a huge LIE! Diabetes IS always a food problem. Eating starching vegetables like potatoes, eating processed foods full of gluten and consuming pasta, bread and rice which are full of carbohydrates will make your blood sugar spike faster than anything else that you can put into your body. If you are really serious about reversing diabetes quickly, there is no diet better for a diabetic than a raw, vegan diet. Gabriel Cousens, M.D at The Tree of Life rejuvenation center in Patagonia, Arizona has done more to reverse diabetes naturally, than any other doctor has done with medication. One thing that most knowledgeable diabetic doctors agree upon is that protein should be avoided by diabetics at all cost in order to save the kidneys and avoid any further damage. Another dangerous food is dairy, because it is not only toxic in a diabetic body, but it has also been proven to be the main reason for juvenile onset diabetes. Another food misconception is that fruit should not be consumed by a diabetic, this could not be further from the truth. Insulin is not needed by the body in order to process fructose or fruit sugars. The human body, just like a car needs both oxygen and carbon in order to run properly. Oxygen is provided by your lungs and carbon is provided by fruit. Your body needs both in order to run properly. Please go to the end of this article for a link to the movie "reversing diabetes in 30 days.

We are the only species on the face of this planet that insist on hydrating our bodies with things other than water. Water is from the earth, coconut water is from the earth and herbs (herbal teas) are from the earth. These are the only three things that that your kidneys recognize. Your kidneys contain tiny filters called glomeruli (glo-MEHR-yoo-lie). When the kidneys are healthy, the artery brings blood and waste from the bloodstream into the kidney's. The glomeruli then clean the blood and the waste and extra fluid go out into the urine through the ureter. Clean blood then goes out of the kidney's back into the bloodstream and through the veins. When we drink any kind of beverage with carbonation, not only are we consuming a ton of sugar (if drinking regular) or saccharin poison ( diet) but you are also feeding your kidneys something that it does not recognize and can not filter. Most people are not aware of the fact that the molecules in soda are just simply too large for the filters in the kidney's to process. The kidneys and bladder are silent when they’re sick. Many other parts of the body will give you symptoms when there is loss of function, but with the kidneys, you may not feel anything until you have lost 80% of your kidney function.

A topic that kept being bought up over and over during my research and interviews was liver and parasites. Everyone that I had spoken to that had once been deathly ill and had recovered, always mentioned cleaning the liver and parasite removal. Many people that I spoke to insisted that type 2 diabetes was caused by the Fluke parasite. This parasite is found widely in cattle food products. Flukes can also be found in lakes and rivers as well, so you can contract them by swimming in these places. By eating high fructose corn syrup and processed foods, you are doing nothing short of setting a buffet for these greedy critters. Fluke parasites, once in the body will travel to the pancreas and disrupt pancreatic hormones, prompting the pancreas to create more insulin. The fluke parasite loves nothing more than to indulge in eating sugar- insulin and high fructose corn syrup. I spoke to many diabetics who had been dealing with glucose numbers between 300-700 and grossly overweight. Once they had performed a parasite cleanse and cleaned out their livers, there glucose numbers dropped to normal as did their weight. Dr. Hulda Clark takes it one step further and adds that in order for any disease to be corrected, both parasites and toxic metals must be removed from the body. Metformin is a diabetic drug that doctors prescribe for diabetes constantly. It is made from goats rue- the part in goats rue that kills parasites. that is why Metformin is so effective at treating diabetes but it does not kill the fluke off completely which is why you must use it for ever.

Diabetes is also an emotional issue. Diabetics always seem to be angry at the world or ready for a fight, perhaps not looking for a fight, but ready. Almost all diabetics I know, or have spoken to have resistance, as well as rejection issues within the family or with past friends. The pancreas will accommodate resistance and defensiveness by having a ready supply of sugar in the blood for a quick burst of energy to defend itself. Most diabetics will deny this, including myself, but ask their relatives or spouses and they all agree this to be true. In order to heal fully from diabetes, the resistance needs treating before anything can be accomplished. Once the issue of defensiveness is treated, the glucose levels will begin to decrease. Here is a perfect case example: Lilly is hired as a manager at a clothing store. One of the workers resents Lilly for being her boss, because she felt that he should have gotten the management position. The worker then constantly picks fights, taunting and doing all she can to upset Lilly. After 6 months (Lilly, with no real authority to discipline) passes out on the sales floor in a diabetic coma. This was caused because Lilly was always dreading and ready for a fight. This fight or flight response caused her body to constantly release sugar into the blood, ready for self defense, always looking over her shoulder ready for an attack.

Exercise is a very important part of controlling, managing and and reversing diabetes. Exercise helps to improve your body's use of insulin. Decreased body fat results in improved insulin sensitivity, improved muscle strength, bone density and blood circulation. When you begin to move your body it needs extra fuel in the form of glucose to exercise the muscles. Daily moderate exercise uses up glucose at almost 20 times the normal rate. This helps lowers blood sugar levels and at the same time insulin levels drop in anyone not taking insulin, so the risks of hypoglycemia or low blood sugar is minimized. Exercise is not only good for blood sugar, but also your lungs, heart and muscles. Moving your body not only keeps you healthy but will also helps with stress levels and keeps you happy. Apply these five steps and watch how quickly your glucose numbers begin to normalize!

Every Dis-ease is emotional: Cancer

Posted on June 18, 2013 at 2:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Cancer has always been an extremely rare illness, except in industrialized nations during the past 40-50 years. Human genes have not significantly changed for thousands of years. Why would they change so drastically now, and suddenly decide to kill scores of people?

The answer to this question, is amazingly simple: Damaged or faulty genes do not kill anyone. Cancer does not kill a person afflicted with it! What kills a cancer patient is not the tumor, but the numerous reasons behind cell mutation and tumor growth. These root causes should be the focus of every cancer treatment, yet most oncologists typically ignore them.

Constant conflicts, resentment, guilt and shame (known as stress), for example, can easily paralyze the body’s most basic functions, and easily lead to the growth of a cancerous tumor. After having seen thousands of cancer patients over a period of three decades, I began to recognize a certain pattern of thinking, believing and feeling that was common to most of them. To be more specific, I have yet to meet a cancer patient who does not feel burdened by some poor self-image, unresolved conflict and worries, or past emotional conflict/trauma that still lingers in his subconscious mind and cellular memories.

Cancer, the physical disease, cannot occur unless there is a strong undercurrent of emotional uneasiness and deep-seated frustration.
Cancer patients typically suffer from lack of self-respect or worthiness, and often have what I call an “unfinished business” in their life.

Cancer can actually be a way of revealing the source of such an unresolved, inner conflict. Furthermore, cancer can help them come to terms with such a conflict, and even heal it altogether. The way to take out weeds is to pull them out along with their roots. This is how we must treat cancer; otherwise, it may recur eventually.

A scurf rim is identified  when a dark line instead of a sodium is found circling the rim of the iris. The rim relates to the skin, which is the largest organ of elimination. The existence of a scurf rim shows that the skin, for one reason or another is not eliminating toxins and cleansing properly.

Those who have scurf rims usually get tired easily, get drowsy even although they have gotten enough sleep and are easily affected by skin related diseases.

When we suppress skin eruptions such as boils, psoriasis, skin infection, Shingles or chicken pox by consuming antibiotics we are slowly playing havoc on our skin. When we partake of hot bathes, steam bathes or wear heavy dense clothing we are weakening skin action. All of these things tend to intensify the scurf rim. A huge contributor to darkened scurf rims in the iris are do to metabolic imbalance and lack of proper circulation and silica.

Treatment for people having scurf rim according to iridologists should be done through cleansing the liver from the toxic and chemical substances, purifying the blood so as to reduce the likely effect of skin diseases and giving the body what it needs in order for the skin to do it's job properly.

Some of the best homoeopathic medications to help the skin breath are Chelidonium, because it also  helps to detox the liver. Goldenrod has has been used for skin conditions as well as for enlargement of the liver and stones in the kidney or urinary tract. Burdock root is one of the best herbs known to help “purify” the blood and help the skin to sweat.

If the purpose is to simply clear the skin you can use Kali sulph. In fact, whenever there is a scurf rim, Kali sulph should be prescribed together with Silica.

Overall however, one of the biggest reasons for scurf rims can be traced back to the thyroid. The mechanism for this detoxification in our bodies occurs via the thyroid gland. The blood carries toxins around the body and all of the blood in the body goes through the thyroid glands every 17 minutes. If the thyroid is iodine deficient then your skin can not sweat and you begin to suffer from  brittle nails, cold hands/feet, cold intolerance, constipation, difficulty swallowing, dry/flaky skin and dry mouth/eyes

Iodine deficiency is more common than most people realize. The levels of iodine are much lower in our food supply then they where 20 years ago. Health foodists are also getting away from salt and avoiding needed iodine . Iodine was removed from milk sources as dairy farmers converted to using chemicals instead of iodine to disinfect cow udders. It was also removed from bread and replaced by bromide because bromide gave a more pleasing consistency to bread; unfortunately, bromide acts to push already scarce iodine out of the body. Years ago our mothers also used to treat cuts and scraps with iodine and it was introduced into our body in that form, but now we are avoiding it completly and hypothyroid and goiters are increasing in epidemic proportions through the country.

Besides helping your thyroid and helping your skin to sweat, it helps resist disease and kill germs, bad bacteria, viruses and candida as blood passes through the thyroid. Iodine is linked to increased energy and endurance. Iodine calms the body and releases nervous tension helping you get a good nights sleep. Iodine reduces brain fog and increases focus and concentration. Iodine  helps you produce enough stomach acid, stops hoarseness, dry skin/mouth/eyes, cold intolerance and constipation.

The iodine patch test is an easy and inexpensive way to test for this deficiency – a simple patch test that can be performed at home will let you know if you are deficient and about how deficient you are:

1. Place 1 drop of iodine on the skin; let the iodine dry. It will stain the skin.
2. If the yellow stain from the iodine disappears in less than 7 hours, then you are severely deficient.
3. If it is gone in 12 hours you have a moderate deficiency.
4. If you are not deficient, the patch will stay on your arm for 14-24 hours and then begin to fade.
5. The faster it fades, the more deficient you are.

Recommended usage:

Place 1-2 drops of iodine on the skin each day.
Keep an eye on how long the iodine patch takes to disappear each day – the amount of time it takes to disappear should increase each day.
1-2 drops may not be enough if you do not notice a significant improvement in the time it takes the iodine to fade then you may need to take more.
Just work up slowly to a maximum of 3-5 drops each day if necessary.
Do not increase by more than 1 drop per day.
If you notice low energy, brain fog or headaches, cut back on your daily amount.
Don't take iodine after 4 pm as it could raise your energy levels and keep you awake at night.

Adapted from The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush by Andreas Moritz

Cleansing the liver and gallbladder from gallstones is one of the most important and powerful approaches to improving your health. The liver cleanse takes 5 ½ days of easy preparation, followed by 16-20 hours of focus and actual cleansing.

- Malic acid capsules -2 capsules per day (1500-2000 mg per day)
- Epsom salts -4 tablespoons total
- Either fresh grapefruit (pink is best) or fresh lemon and orange combined – Enough to squeeze 3/4 cup of juice
– Extra virgin olive oil (cold- pressed)
– Peppermint essential oil – if feel nausea, open bottle and sniff
– Glass jar with lid
Notes: Look for oral Epsom salts. Some packaging describes it as a natural laxative. If you cannot tolerate grapefruit juice you man use equal amounts of freshly squeezed lemon and orange juice instead. The effect is the same with either choice.

Take two malic acid capsules (1500-2000 mg) with lunch for six days. The malic acid softens the gallstones and liver stones and makes their passage through the bile ducts easy. The old recipe called for apple juice to be drunk throughout the day for six days. It is the malic acid in the apple juice which softens the stones. It is much easier and healthier to just take two malic acid capsules per day.

During the entire week of preparation and cleansing, avoid taking foods or beverages that are cold or chilled. They chill the liver and, thereby, reduce the effectiveness of the cleanse. All foods or beverages would be warm or at least room temperature. To help the liver prepare for the main flush, try to avoid foods from animal source, dairy products and fried food items. Otherwise, eat normal meals, but avoid overeating. Make sure that you are drinking at least 64 ounces of filtered water during these six days. It is important that the body is hydrated. A colonic (colon hydrotherapy session) a day or two prior to the cleanse will help to hydrate the colon.

2:00 P.M. Quit eating food. Water is O.K.
6:00 P.M. Add one tablespoon of Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) to a 6 ounce glass of filtered water. Drink it. You may take a few sips of water afterwards to get rid of the bitter taste in the mouth, or add a little lemon juice to improve the taste. One of the main actions of Epsom salts is to dilate (widen) the bile ducts, making it easy for the stones to pass. Moreover, it clears out waste that may obstruct the release of the stones.
8:00 P.M. Add one tablespoon to Epsom salts to 6 ounces of filtered water and drink it.
9:30 P.M. If you have not had a bowel movement until now take a water enema. This may trigger a series of bowel movements.
9:45 P.M. Thoroughly wash the grapefruits (or lemons and oranges). Squeeze them by hand and remove the pulp. You will need ¾ cup of juice. Pour the juice and ½ cup of olive oil into a glass jar. Close the jar lid and shake hard, about 20 times until the solution is watery.
10:00 P.M. Be ready for bed. Stand next to your bed and quickly drink the juice and olive oil concoction. LIE DOWN STRAIGHT AWAY! This is essential for helping to release the stones. Turn off the lights and lie flat on your back with 1-2 pillows propping you up. Your head should be higher than your abdomen. If this is uncomfortable, lie on your right side with your knees pulled towards your head. Lie perfectly still for at least 20 minutes and try not to speak. Put your attention on your liver. You may feel the stones traveling along the bile ducts. There won’t be any pain because the magnesium in the Epsom salt keeps the bile duct valves wide open and relaxed, and the bile that is excreted along with the stones keeps the bile ducts well lubricated. Go to sleep if you can. If at any time during the night you feel the urge to have a bowel movement, get up and do so. Check if there are already small gallstones (pea green or tan ones) floating in the toilet. You may feel nauseous during the night and/or in the early morning hours. This is mostly due to a strong, sudden outpouring of stones and toxins from the liver and gallbladder, pushing the oil mixture back into the stomach. Sniffing the peppermint oil will help.

6:00 A.M. Upon awakening, but not before 6:00 A.M., drink another tablespoon of Epsom salts which has been added to 6 ounces of filtered water. Rest, read or meditate. If you are very sleepy, you may go back to bed, although it is best if the body stays in an upright position.
8:00 A.M. Drink another tablespoon of Epsom salts which has been added to 6 ounces of filtered water.
10:00 A.M. You may drink freshly pressed fruit juice at this time. One half hour later you may eat one or two pieces of fresh fruit. One hour later you may eat regular (but light) food. By the evening or the next morning you should be back to normal, and feeling the first signs of improvement. Continue to eat light meals during the following days. Remember, your liver and gallbladder underwent major surgery, albeit without harmful side effects.

Get a colonic (colon hydrotherapy session). This will re-hydrate the colon as the Epsom salts has a dehydrating effect. A colonic also helps to ensure that none of the toxic liver or gallbladder stones finds a home in one of the many pockets which line the colon. It is very important that the toxic stones get all of the way out of the body.

During the morning and, perhaps, afternoon hours after the cleanse you will have a number of watery bowel movements. These initially consist of gallstones mixed with food residue, and then just stones mixed with water. Most of the gallstones and liver stones are pea-green and float in the toilet because they contain bile compounds. The stones can come in different shades of green. The stones come in all sizes, colors and shapes. The light colored stones are the newest. Blackish stones are the oldest. Some are pea-sized or smaller, and others are as big as two or three centimeters in diameter (about 1 inch). There may be dozens and, sometimes, even hundreds of stones (of different sizes and colors) coming out at once.

The important thing to remember is that once you have started cleansing the liver, keep cleansing it until no more stones come out. This will require from 6 to 12 different liver cleanses. They are to be done about one month apart. Keep doing the cleanses until you are getting no more stones out. Then, a liver cleanse once a year is sufficient for maintenance.

Healing pancreatitis Naturally

Posted on April 20, 2013 at 3:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Can pancreatitis be healed naturally?  From what I have learned in the past five years I say can be done! Having had some medical background, being a licensed  massage therapist and also working as an alternative health care provider, I am certain that what I am about to share with you, most doctors are not even aware of.

My story begins back twenty nine years ago when I began suffering from gallbladder attacks and was completely naive as to how the body functioned. I believed the doctors when they informed me that the gallbladder is not an essential organ. As a matter of fact it is one of the most common surgical procedures performed on women. I was told that it can even be performed on pregnant women with low risk to both the baby and mother.

I naturally assumed that everything that I was being told was truthful and correct and agreed to the surgery after being assured that this would take care of the problem. At no point before my surgery or afterward was I ever informed that complications might arise down the road, or that I would have to change my diet in any way to avoid any further issues.

Fifteen years after that initial surgery, I returned to that same hospital with a ruptured appendix and four years after that my weight began to escalate along with my blood pressure and my cholesterol. By the time I was 45, I was suffering with a slew of illnesses which also included chronic diarrhea, IBS, and pancreatitis.

I would soon find out that patients who do not change their diets after having their gall bladders removed will end up suffering with other organs such as their appendix and pancreas. I also learned that after the removal of the gallbladder, IBS and other intestinal problems are almost unavoidable. The gallbladder was created for a purpose and is a very essential organ, as are all your other organs. The one who created you did not put in any spare parts. Every organ has a reason and a purpose. The purpose of the gallbladder is as a bile reservoir tank for the liver. Once the gallbladder has been removed you have a constant drip from the liver which causes digestive issues, diarrhea, IBS, acid reflux, as well as many other problems.

When your gallbladder has been removed you are also more likely to end up with pancreatitis. One of the main reasons is because the original cause was never addressed. You see, the problem was never really the gallbladder to begin with, the problem originally started in the liver and the culprit was your diet. This is always the case if your pancreatitis was not alcohol induced. So in order for you to understand how you ended up with pancreatitis, you need to know a few things of how your body works.

Your liver is the largest organ of the body, it can lose three-quarters of its cells before it stops functioning and the only organ that can regenerate itself. It is also one of the organs that you can not live without and yet one of the most over-looked and mistreated. Your liver is in charge of filtering your entire bodies blood supply every 3 1/2 minutes. It also filters out everything that you eat, drink and inhale. That's pretty impressive for an organ that size. The liver forms it's bile from water, electrolytes, cholesterol, bilirubin, bile acids, and phospholipids. Adults produce between 400 and 800 ml of bile each day and it’s stored in the gallbladder until it is needed. (told you that you needed that gallbladder) Now here is the surprising part. Did you know that your gallstones came from the liver? Liver stones are formed whenever an excess of cholesterol exists in the body. What on earth would create enough cholesterol in the body to form calcified stones you ask? The answer is acid causing foods.

When you consume highly acidic foods such as meat, dairy and grains, it causes the body to become highly acidic. Our bodies where meant to be in a constant alkaline state, so in order to balance itself out, your body begins to draw from the bodies available resources in order to counterbalance the acidity from those foods. The two best sources that your body has to draw from are calcium and the production of cholesterol. So when you consume a diet high in acids, the body compensates with high antidotes of cholesterol and calcium. When you continue to consume these highly acidic diets for lengthy periods of time, the liver is not capable of removing the calcium, or the cholesterol fast enough and this begins to form stones in the bile.

If this type of acid forming diet is allowed to continue, enough stones will form that the liver will become over burdened and excess stones will be passed over to the gallbladder and stored along with the bile. When this bile leaves your gallbladder, your pancreas is next in line to receive these wonderful stones. If the gallbladder gets over burdened with these stones you will begin to experience gallbladder attacks and eventually be told that you need to have your gallbladder removed. If you have your gallbladder removed it only becomes that much easier and the distance that much shorter for your pancreas to be gifted with these calcified stones causing acute pancreatitis.

Now, if your anything like me you will suffer for many years with pancreatits before they finally figure out that it's stones causing the problem and from my thero research, it is always stones causing the problem. The biggest problem facing anyone with pancreatitis, however, is that by the time that a stone becomes large enough, or calcified enough to be spotted on an MRI, cat scan or ultra sound it's normally too late for patients, or they are already living with feeding tubes because the pain has become so sever that it is almost impossible to keep food down. Gallstone pancreatitis is caused when inflammation of the pancreas results from blockage of the pancreas duct by a gallstone. This occurs at the level of the sphincter of Oddi, a round muscle located at the opening of the bile duct that goes into the small intestine. When a stone or debris from the Gallbladder or liver travels down the common bile duct and clogs or gets stuck at the sphincter, it blocks outflow from the liver and pancreas.

So there you have it. Just as water rolls downhill, so do stones in the body. The liver being the highest point, filtering to the gallbladder then the pancreas and finally the kidney's.  I know that everyone knows about kidney stones and now you know how those stones got there. One of the saddest realizations that I made during my research was that there is a way to remove gallbladder stones naturally without surgery and I could have saved my much needed gallbladder. I also found that there is a way to heal from pancreatitis, which is just the opposite of what we have been lead to believe all along.

If you suffer from pancreatitis and have tried every avenue to heal, detoxification of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas is worth a try.
Healing the pancreas naturally takes a lot of commitment, time and open mindedness in order to carry out the 30 day protocol.

The body is not so hard to figure out once you have done the research and taken the time to break everything down in order to figure out how it works. So if your seriously wanting to keep your gallbladder or heal the pancreas please consider detox and giving me a call. I'd love to help.

Enemas & Colonics

What is the difference between a Colonic and an Enema?

Colonics and enemas are therapies that both involve introducing water into the colon through the rectum in order to cleanse the colon. But there are some key differences between colonics and enemas:

Colonics cleanse the entire length of the colon. Enemas cleanse the lower part of the colon, the sigmoid and part of the descending colon.Colonics involve mutiple infusions of water into the colon. Enemas involve a single infusion of water into the colon. With colonics, fecal matter leaves the body via a tube. The client does not see or smell the fecal matter during the session. At the end of the session, the client usually sits on a toilet, and usually passes any residual water and stools. An enema involves the one-time infusion of water. It sits in the lower part of the colon for a period of time, and then the person sits on the toilet. Colonics must be administered by a trained colon hydrotherapist and requires professional equipment. Enemas can be performed at in the comfort of your own home. Disposable enema kits are available in drugstores and online. If  administered properly both are painless and leave one feeling far better than before the session. One may experience minor discomfort like the sensations felt during a normal bowel movement

How often should one have colonics or Enema's ?The results of the first treatment determine how soon to have another. The more room made in the bowels from an effective treatment, the more unprocessed waste will find its way to the bowel in the days and weeks that follow. This is when you want to "ride the wave of momentum" in order to assist the body in moving waste that has been in the body for some time and is a bit too dense and sticky to be passed during a normal bowel movement.  Diet also matters greatly in order to support the cleansing process, we need to change how we eat. This does not mean we should make radical changes, but instead begin to slowly transition into a more cleansing diet. As we are transitioning, we can have colonics or do enimas regularly. There is no magic number that one needs to adhere to in order to benefit from colonics or enemas. There are people who do them daily, weekly, monthly or twice a year. Your body is your best indicator.

What are the benefits? Consider the colon the sewer system of the body. Since the colon is at the end of the line, it becomes sluggish, backed-up, and therefore polluted. This in turn pollutes and weakens the entire body - tissue, organs, and bloodstream. We eventually become sick because the amount of waste in the tissues and bloodstream is too much for our daily routine. The waste in the blood stream that does not get filtered by the kidneys in sleep (dialysis) eventually contributes to general fatigue, cloudiness in one's thinking, bloating, and lack of energy to get through the day. By cleansing the bowels we can help restore the body to its natural state of being, which is healthy and vibrant. By decreasing the amount of waste in the bowels we effectively cleanse the tissues, organs, and bloodstream of the body. As we become "cleaner," we notice many changes - from increased energy and vitality to living free of disease and common illnesses.

Are there any negative side effects? There are many opinions on this topic. Often we hear about people becoming dependent on colonics to properly evacuate the bowels. This is based on stories, which come from people that have used machines to cleanse the bowels. Some colonics are 100% machine free, so one never becomes dependent on colonics and enemas are also machine free. We experience the opposite of this myth. Once the bowels are sufficiently cleansed they begin to regain strength and vitality, and therefore work better than ever before.

Is it true that regular treatments can wash away the "good" bacteria? This is a good question, which requires some explaining. Most of us were raised on diets very high in animal products. Which means, we have more putrefactive bacteria than we do beneficial bacteria, Acidophilus Bacillus, among others. By cleansing the bowels, we decrease the amount of putrefactive bacteria. Along with bowel cleansing it is recommended that one's diet change to suit this new lifestyle. Meaning, we begin to reduce that which thwarts the growth of good bacteria. As we increase the amount of raw fruits & vegetables we support the growth of good bacteria. In a nutshell most of us lack greatly, good bacteria and eat a diet that simply doesn't allow the cultivation of that which is needed to sustain our lives in a healthy way.

Doesn't the human body eliminate waste on its own? This question is linked to the previous one. The body does eliminate waste on its own, to some degree, depending on one's diet, bowel strength, and how unobstructed a person is. When we reach a point from eating dead, processed foods and too many animal products, we kill off the good bacteria, which is there to "mop up the mess left behind". Little by little, day after day waste builds up in the bowels. As waste accumulates we begin to move our bowels with less efficiency bringing about constipation. Which of course, we want avoid.

I have at least one bowel movement every day. Do I really need a treatment? Well, that depends on the amount of meals consumed per day. Eating three meals a day should produce three bowel movements a day. Moving our bowels once per day while maintaining a diet of three meals per day would indicate that we are retaining two thirds of what we are consuming.

Why would I need treatments if I "go" everyday? Even if we consider ourselves regular we can improve our health by maintaining regular colon cleansing. By assisting the body's natural attempts to rid itself of accumulated waste in the form of gas, feces and mucus, we increase our vitality and therefore avoid suffering from latent illness. The more we cleanse and detoxify ourselves the less we suffer from illness.

Will I need to rest or take it easy after a treatment? After a colonic  or enema one's energy should increase and we feel much better and lighter than before the treatment. However, some people upon having their first treatment could experience a slight feeling of fatigue. This is the exception to the rule. Most folks feel great afterwards.

I have IBS. Will this help? Oh yes. IBS is caused by the presence of acidic gas and waste. As we decrease the waste from the bowels the IBS will decrease, dramatically. Of course the diet is a major contributing factor. Which means, the diet needs to improve and include more alkaline foods as we embark on the path of detoxification. They go hand in hand.

How will colon cleansing improve my overall health? The colon is the waste removal system for the body. If we allow gas, waste and mucus to fester in the bowels we bring about a situation not unlike a traffic jam. Inefficiency at the elimination point will slow down the small intestines right on up to the stomach. This common occurrence in people of frighteningly young ages results in many different ailments, symptoms and illnesses, ranging from acid reflux to acne, body odor to name a few. Ignoring these signs or suppressing symptoms with drugs will lead to more fatal illnesses. Not to mention the negative effects drugs have on our entire system. Removing the waste from the body will help avert these seemingly minor issues from becoming a real health crisis. Ignoring or drugging common illnesses like colds & flu's can set the stage for far more serious diseases to develop.

Can this assist in healing? Most people remain "medicated" for years. Between illness, allergy medicines, and over-the-counter" drugs. This in conjunction with daily meds used for general pain, cold & flu meds they become a walking pharmacy. After being introduced to a different way of eating, which includes food combining, juicing, excluding dairy and animal products you will be amazed at how great you will feel. It will lead you to reduce meds, over months till you are free of the drugs and the disease. As for common illnesses like colds, flu, virus, sinusitis, upper and lower respiratory illness, etc. These illnesses will no longer affect you. Colon cleansing greatly assist in healing the human body of chronic disease as well as many common illnesses.
